This exhibition commemorates the centenary of the birth of António Viana Barreto by showcasing a small sample of his vast body of work, which is significant in the history of Landscape Architecture and belongs our collective memory.

António Facco Viana Barreto (1924-2012) is a point of reference in the promotion of Territorial Planning policies, in the theory and in practice of Territorial Planning and Landscape, and in his body of work in Landscape Architecture Projects.

Those who worked with him acknowledge the expertise, rigour and sensitivity with which he dedicated himself to his profession. Everything he did was inspired by the conviction that “it is from the articulation of the whole and in balance of all perspectives that anything can be built”.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation reserves the right to collect and keep records of images, sounds and voice for the diffusion and preservation of the memory of its cultural and artistic activity. For further information, please contact us through the Information Request form.
