To ensure that the implementation of plans and programmes associated with the management of water resources within the territorial scope of the Alentejo and Algarve regions encourages the reduction of water demand and leads to more efficient uses, and ensure the management of the irrigated area in the South of the country safeguards the needs of water security in particular so that the public water supply is not jeopardised, the project will create IT and awareness tools that promote the sharing of information on this issue and will train local citizens to intervene in the defence of their rights and fully participate in policy-making.
In addition, an assessment of water resource management models and their impacts on the territory and communities will be carried out, promoting the development of 4 joint public positions on this topic.
