Norwegian Members of Parliament visiting the programme

A delegation of MPs from the Norwegian Parliament visited the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to learn about the work of the Active Citizens Programme.

The Norwegian delegation, which includes members of the EFTA (European Free Trade Association) and EEA (European Economic Area) parliamentary committees, visited the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to learn about the work of the Active Citizens Programme team, its implementation, and the results achieved over the past few years.

As part of a four-day visit to Portugal, the eight MPs from four different parties in the Norwegian parliament, visited projects funded by the current EEA Grants funding mechanism in our country.

During the visit, which took place on September 4, the two foundations managing the Programme – the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Bissaya Barreto Foundation – were presented, as well as their relevance to the national scene, the context and the results of the Programme and expectations for the future of the EEA Grants.

The visit also included testimonies from representatives of three NGOs supported in this cycle: Pista Mágica, MyPolis and Acreditar, which provided a clear and tangible illustration of the Programme’s results. Additionally, the visit included a stop at the Mezze restaurant, a project developed by the Pão a Pão Association and supported by the Programme, and set the stage for a conversation with a beneficiary of the project.
