The Active Citizens Fund 2022 call, which took place between June 1 and September 16 of this year, received a total of 155 applications for the development of projects in two main areas, namely:

A – Building NGO capacities for a more democratic society: 47 applications;

B – Empowering vulnerable groups and respecting diversity: 108 applications.

For the total of the submitted applications, support of 4.9 million euros was requested, representing more than 8 times the available budgetary allocation of 600.000 euros.

In terms of the territorial distribution of applications, it appears that 49% (77) of these are sponsored by an NGO based outside the Metropolitan Areas of Lisbon and Porto.

Small projects under this Call must have a supportable total of between 10.000 and 35.000 euros and a maximum duration of 12 months.

Funding from the Active Citizens Fund can reach 90% of eligible costs.
