“Untitled” by Ana Vidigal
Visual artist (Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Installation, Video Art). She was born in Lisbon, where she lives and works.
She graduated in Painting from the Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa (1984) and was awarded a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation between 1985 and 1987.
She did an internship in Metal Engraving with Bartolomeu Cid, at Casa das Artes in Tavira (1989) and was resident painter at the Museum of Contemporary Art – Fortaleza de São Tiago in Funchal between 1998-1999.
She has exhibited regularly since 1981, individually and in groups, in Portugal and abroad.
It is represented in public collections such as: Centro de Arte Moderna of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation; Culturgest (Lisbon); Museu Coleção Berardo (Lisbon); Museu da Cidade (Lisbon); Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea – Museu do Chiado (Lisbon); Fundação PLMJ (Lisbon); Fundação de Serralves (Porto); Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Elvas; Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Funchal; Centro de Arte Manuel de Brito (Oeiras); Banco de Portugal (Lisbon) and Deutsche Bank (Lisbon).
On commission from the Lisbon Metro, she designed tile panels for the stations of Alvalade (1995) and Alfornelos (2002).
