Special Collections

The special collections are preferably integrated by donation and by acquisition, considering their historical and patrimonial value.

They include private libraries – such as the important Calouste Gulbenkian Private Library -, the collections and archives of 20th century Portuguese art historians, artists, and architects, as well as collections of photographic specimens resulting both from the professional activity of Portuguese photographers and from research into Portuguese art carried out by researchers and art historians.
