When you arrive
The Grand Auditorium
The majority of Gulbenkian Music Season events take place in the Grand Auditorium. With a capacity of 1172 seats and a unique acoustic, this hall is also perfectly equipped to host Theatre, Dance, Opera and Cinema performances.
Available Services and Equipment
Before the start of each performance and during the intermissions, enrich your experience by using the various services we offer, such as the foyer bar, the cloakroom or our bookshop.
The box office is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 to 18:00, and on Sundays (performance days only) from 13:00 to 18:00. One hour before a performance, the box office will only sell tickets for that event.
You can use our free cloakroom service to deposit bags, coats, umbrellas, musical instruments or other large objects which, for safety reasons, cannot be taken into the auditorium.
From one hour before the performance and during the intermissions, the foyer bar offers a wide range of products, and has a pleasant terrace in the garden.
Shop and Bookshop
While you are waiting for the performance to begin, or during the interval, take time to visit our shop and bookshop, where you will find Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation publications, exhibition catalogues and other articles.
At classical music concerts, entrance in the auditorium is not allowed after the doors are closed, unless otherwise indicated by the room assistants. In order not to disturb the concentration of the musicians and the audience, you may have to occupy a different seat.
Music, dance, sports and similar performances are rated for people over 6 years old, in accordance with the terms of Law 23/2014, Article 27. However, for the film-concert series, the age rating of the film will be primarily considered.
