The huge demand for tickets for the Rufus Wainwright show with the Gulbenkian Orchestra conducted by Joana Carneiro (27 November) sold out long ago, which has led Gulbenkian Música to schedule a second concert in the Grande Auditório on the following day, 28 November, at 21:00.

Rufus Wainwright will perform Prima Donna, a visual concert that retrieves his first operatic work and includes the showing of a film directed by Francesco Vezzoli, with Cindy Sherman in the role of Maria Callas. This film is a joint commission of the Gulbenkian Foundation, Los Angeles Opera and the Athens Festival.

The second part of this concert will be filled with orchestral recreations of some of Rufus Wainwright’s best known songs, Broadway classics and music from the operatic repertoire.
