Location
Grand Auditorium Calouste Gulbenkian FoundationThere’s nothing like hearing the same theme approached by different composers to stimulate the understanding of musical creativity. In the Sunday family concerts it is important to demonstrate this facet of music. This programme promotes the meeting of works dedicated to the four seasons of the year, composed by the Italian Antonio Vivaldi and the Argentinian Astor Piazzolla, demonstrating how the response to the same creative stimulus may be different. In the Baroque language of Vivaldi, we also find the pulse of Mediterranean Europe; whereas in the free tango of Piazzolla, there are associations with the fragrance of Buenos Aires and the rhythms of Latin America.
