Born in Glasgow and educated at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Rachel Redmond began her career performing with Les Arts Florissants under the direction of William Christie.  Her repertoire includes a wide range of works from the 17^th and 18^th centuries by Bach, Boismortier, Charpentier, Couperin, Handel, Mondonville, Monteverdi, Purcell and Rameau.

Particularly admired for her performing of Handel, Rachel Redmond’s engagements have included Dalinda Ariodante at the Göttingen International Handel Festival and La resurrezione at the London Handel Festival. 

She performs regularly with Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, Jordi Savall and the Centre Internacional de Música Antiga, Dunedin Consort, Barokkanerne (Norwegian Baroque Orchestra), and The English Concert.

She recently made important débuts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Academy of Ancient Music, the Atelier Lyrique de Tourcoign, Netherlands Bach Society in the prestigious ZaterdagMatinee series from the Amsterdam Concertgebouw on NTR Radio, Il Gardellino and Flemish Radio Choir, in Leipzig Bachfest with Les Talens Lyriques and with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at the BBC Proms.

Forthcoming engagements include her début at Opéra du Rhin as Fortuna L’inforonazione di Poppea, and tours with Les Arts Florissants and the Centre Internacional de Música Antiga.
