Prizewinner at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition, V Paulo International Cello Competition and ICMA 2016 “Young Artist of the Year”, Pablo Ferrández is building a significant career through collaborations with internationally renowned artists and leading orchestras.
Pablo’s recent highlights include a debut at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel, performances of Brahms Double Concerto with Anne-Sophie Mutter, appearances with Bamberg Symphony under C. Eschenbach, with Gürzenich Orchester at the Berliner Philharmonie, Israel Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony, Konzerthaus Berlin, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and St. Petersburg Philharmonic.
The 19/20 season will also feature a European tour alongside Anne-Sophie Mutter, Khatia Buniatishvili and the London Philharmonic performing Beethoven Triple Concerto, his Artist Residency at the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini in Parma, the debuts with Bayerischen Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra under Daniele Gatti, Orchestre National de France, Basel Symphony, Tonkuenstler Orchestra, and Royal Philharmonic, among others.
Born in Madrid, Pablo Ferrández joined Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía to study with Natalia Shakhovskaya. He completed his studies at the Kronberg Academy with Frans Helmerson.
Pablo plays the Stradivarius “Lord Aylesford” (1696) thanks to the Nippon Music Foundation.
