German soprano Nadja Mchantaf completed ten years of dance training before beginning her voice studies in Leipzig with Regina Werner Dietrich; the soprano has, since 2010, continued her studies with Brigitte Eisenfeld.

While still a student, she was already invited to the Leipzig Opera, the Gewandhaus, and to the Leipzig Bach Festival. Upon receiving her diploma, she joined the ensemble of the Dresden Semper Opera, singing roles as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Musetta in La bohème, Micaëla in Carmen, Servilia in La clemenza di Tito, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Princess Eudoxie in La Juive, Ännchen in Der Freischütz, Valencienne in Die lustige Witwe, Lucilla in Johann Adolf Hasse’s Il tutore, Lidochka in Shostakovich’s Moscow, Cheryomushki, and Morgana in Handel’s Alcina. She also appeared as Adina in Dresden’s new production of L’elisir d’amore, under the direction of Riccardo Frizza, and as Fifth Maid in Elektra, under the direction of Christian Thielemann (available on CD by Deutsche Grammophon)..

Ms. Mchantaf made her debut at the Komische Oper Berlin as Tamiri in Mozart’s Il re pastore, subsequenty she was engaged for Massenet’s Cendrillon under the musical direction of Henrik Nánási and the stage direction of Damiano Michieletto.

Nadja Mchantaf was invited to the Stuttgart State Opera, the Frankfurt Opera, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Beijing Music Festival, and to the Graz Opera. With the Hamburg Symphony Nadja Mchantaf performed the part of Jenny in Weill’s Rise And Fall Of The City Of Mahagonny.

2016 Nadja Mchantaf joined the ensemble of the Komische Oper, appearing there as Dvořák’s Rusalka, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin, the Child in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, Érinice in Rameau’s Zoroastre, Micaëla in Carmen, Mélisande in Pelléas et Mélisande, Mimí in La Boheme and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.

In January 2018 she made her debut at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice as Hanna Glawari in Die Lustige Witwe. In April 2019 she was invited to perform the same part at the Rome Opera. At the Frankfurt Opera Nadja Mchantaf sang Micaela (Carmen, March 2019).
