Violin

Jordi Rodriguez Cayuelas completed the Advanced Violin Course at the Murcia Music Conservatory. He later studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Madrid with Vicente Huerta Faubel, with José Luis García Asensio at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz and at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf. He has also attended courses led by Mikhail Kopelman, Yair Kless, Sergey Girshenko, Joseph Silverstein, Walter Levin and Rainer Schmidt. He received a scholarship from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and the Carl Dörken Foundation.

Jordi Rodriguez received first prizes in the Violin Competition at the Murcia International Festival of Youth Orchestras, in the National Competition for Young Performers in Xàtiva (Valencia), in the Music Competition in Villa de Cox (Alicante) and in the Schmolz-Bickenbach Chamber Music Competition in Düsseldorf. He regularly performs as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles. As a concert violinist, he has worked with several orchestras and performed in a number of European countries. In the field of chamber music, he has shared the stage with such artists as Jürgen Kussmaul, Matthias Buchholz, Ida Bieler and Vicente Huerta. He is currently the 1st soloist in the second violins with the Gulbenkian Orchestra.
