Tenor Georgy Vasiliev is a leading soloist of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow, having also performed at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Grand-Théâtre de Genève, Opera Australia, Opera de Lille in France, and other theatres throughout Europe and the United States. His repertoire includes such roles as Rodolfo in La Boheme, the Duke in Rigoletto, Lensky in Eugene Onegin, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Romeo in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette, the title role in Faust, Alfredo in La Traviata, Vladimir in Prince Igor, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, and Vaudemont in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta. Vasiliev recently sang Rodolfo at the Taormina Opera Festival and will soon appear as Pinkerton at Opéra de Limoges and Alfredo at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo for his South American debut.

Also active on the concert stage, Vasiliev has participated in international festivals in Moscow, Colmar and Annecy, France, San Sebastian, Spain, Utrecht, Netherlands, and Mexico City, performing as the tenor soloist in gala concerts as well as in Verdi’s Requiem, Rachmaninov’s The Bells, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Bruckner’s Te Deum, and Janacek’s The Eternal Gospel. In 2016, Vasiliev appeared in an open-air gala on The Palace Square in St. Petersburg with Anna Netrebko, Ildar Abdrazakov, and Olga Peretyatko. He has also performed alongside Nicole Car, Jessica Pratt, Elena Mosuc, Venera Gimadieva, Anna Samuil, Lisette Oropesa, Joyce El-Khoury, George Petean, Rodion Pogossov, and Étienne Dupuis.

Georgy Vasiliev originally completed his studies as a choral conductor at the prestigious Academy of Choral Art in Moscow, before turning his attention to vocal studies. Other roles in his developing repertoire include Don José in Carmen, Des Grieux in Massenet’s Manon, Pollione in Norma, and Fernando in Donizetti’s La Favorita.
