In recent years, the Chinese pianist Yuja Wang has won international audiences with her staggering virtuosity. This was once again evident in the recital she gave in the Grand Auditorium in April 2017. If, on the one hand, her image has enabled her to attract a young audience looking for a less conservative attitude, it is no less true that the musicality overflowing in her interpretations captivates the most demanding audiences. Maestro Claudio Abbado was one of the first to surrender to her talent, having directed the young pianist’s debut album for Deutsche Grammophon.
