A thousand administrative detainees go on hunger strike. When the Prime Minister decides to induce a deep sleep to avoid international attention, the thousand sleeping Palestinians cause insomnia on the people of Israel. It is urgent to send an emissary to dream world to stop it. Through his oneiric parable, swaying between seriousness and lightness, composer Adam Maor and playwright Yonatan Levy, both Israelis, talk about a devastated land, a multicultural society seen by authorities not as an organic whole, but rather as an irreconcilable fragmented space. The opera is based on one certainty: “There is no other homeland than that of the space between one soul and another.”
