The Sudo Quartet could be said to be a kind of paradise for free improvisation. Bringing together four of the most extraordinary improvisers in European music, including Carlos Zíngaro and Joëlle Léandre, with over two decades of joint experience before getting here, the encounter of these four forces is a hymn to unrestricted creativity and the assumption that the stage should be a place pervious to risk. Live at Banlieue Bleue (2012) is unequivocal evidence of intrepid, continually expanding music.
