Bringing together musicians associated with such projects as The Thing, The Young Mothers, Acoustic Unity, Bushman’s Revenge and Electric Masada, the Starlite Motel quartet unites around a blaze of sound in which Jamie Saft’s keyboards have a predominant role and Ingebrigt Håker Flaten’s bass guitar is a factor of ongoing turmoil. There is as much jazz as there is raw rock and devilish soul in an extremely solid en-route encounter between European and NorthAmerican musicians (considering that Håker Flaten, a Norwegian who lives in Austin, Texas, already belongs to both worlds).
