Grand Auditorium Calouste Gulbenkian FoundationViola player, Diemut Poppen, a teacher at the Queen Sofía College of Music, in Madrid, has studied with leading musicians and conductors such as Kim Kashkashian and Yuri Bashmet. She has been a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Orchestra Mozart. In 2010, building on her experience in chamber music festivals in Germany, Switzerland and Spain, she founded the Cantabile Festival in Lisbon, of which she is the artistic director, sponsored by the Goethe Institut and Gulbenkian Music. Soloists from the Gulbenkian Orchestra join the international soloists invited by the festival for each edition.
