As part of the commemorations for the centenary of Iannis Xenakis’ birth, Gulbenkian Música will present Polytope 2022, a show that includes a reworking of Polytope de Cluny (1972-74), a revolutionary piece for its proposed dialogue between music, the visual arts and architecture, and a forerunner of multimedia creations. In homage to this work’s 50th anniversary, the musical collective nu/thing and the visual design studio ExperiensS have also developed a new piece based on the same device, recognized on all the tech advances but without betraying the spirit originally defined by Xenakis.
Warning – This performance includes the use of strobe lights, which could be a potential seizure trigger for people with photosensitive epilepsy.
