Johannes Brahms

op. 116 to 119 (selection)
— Intermission of 20 min. —

Ludwig van Beethoven

Piano Sonata No. 32, in C minor, op. 111
Total approximate duration: 120 min.

Known for the extreme care he puts into designing each programme, Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski forces himself to meditate at length on the different genres, trying to find an internal logic in the works he chooses to put into dialogue. On the other hand, he said in an interview that he practises until his fingers find a beauty that, in his words, resembles “a choreography danced on the keyboard”. These are some of the assumptions underlying a recital that brings together works by Brahms and Beethoven.
