“Beethoven and Brahms are both incredibly romantic and sensitive composers,” said Rudolf Buchbinder in an interview. “This music is always full of admissions of love”. The pianist believes that this romanticism that he associates with the often ambiguous relationship between Brahms and Clara Schumann, makes his work timeless. It is true that the meeting between Brahms and Robert and Clara Schumann was of crucial importance to the work of the then young composer, who would ever since harbour a deep admiration for the couple.
