The percussionist André Dias studied with Miquel Bernat, Manuel Campos and Nuno Aroso, and has accumulated several awards since 2009, including first place in both the Young Musicians Award and the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth, in 2013. He is currently a soloist in the Porto Symphony Orchestra – Casa da Música, and his resume includes performances with ensembles and orchestras such as Drumming GP, Remix Ensemble, Gulbenkian Orchestra and European Union Youth Wind Orchestra. It will be the first time that Joana Carneiro conducts the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra at the Gulbenkian Foundation
