A regular presence in Gulbenkian Music seasons, Nikolai Lugansky is one of the most inspired custodians of the great Russian pianistic tradition. The musician, whom the newspaper Le Monde considers “not only the most extraordinary Russian pianist of modern times, but also one of the most exceptional artists of our time”, returns to the Grand Auditorium to go through the work of one of his first musical loves. Chopin was perhaps most responsible for his early and intense dedication to the piano from childhood, a composer to whom Lugansky dedicated some of his most acclaimed recordings.
