As a widely-reputed master of Baroque music, the Dutch conductor Ton Koopman has, over a period of ten years, undertaken a fascinating, monumental discography project: the complete recording of Bach’s cantatas. It was such an ambitious project that he decided to form the Amsterdam Baroque Choir as its fundamental foundation. Koopman is an enthusiast of the Baroque and Classical periods, and has made his position clear: «I draw the line at the time of Mozart’s death in 1791».
