Marta Warelis Piano

Duration 45 minutes

A pianist umbilically linked to improvisation and experimentation, Marta Warelis is a believer in real-time composition and, in her hands, the piano not only emerges as an instrument of broken harmonies or obsessive arpeggios but roars from within. Warelis’s range of technical talents is enriched by a catalogue of influences that include various currents of improvisation, jazz styles and erudite music, which she takes in and then throws back out as and when its suits her personal style. In 2022, she released her first solo album on Relative Pitch Records, A Grain of Earth, which assembles a notable arsenal of possible timbres for the piano, alongside the conceptual belief that everything moves in constant waves of energy.
