Masha and Marjan Vahdat are two Iranian sisters, born in the 1970s and raised in the tradition of Persian music. They have dedicated themselves to this repertoire for the last 20 years, bringing new life to it and winning an ever wider audience of admirers. From the outset, their bewitching voices are placed at the service of the greatest names of Persian poetry, especially Rumi and Hafez. Performers of music of a marked spiritual fervour, the sisters have also devoted themselves to the struggle for the recognition of the fundamental place that women occupy in Iranian music and society.
