In the first Metropolitan Opera in HD broadcast from New York, tenor Benjamin Bernheim will take on the role of the tormented poet in Jacques Offenbach’s astonishing final work Les Contes d’Hoffman. The stellar cast also includes Erin Morley, Pretty Yende and Clémentine Margaine and is directed by Marco Armiliato. The conductor, who has been a key presence in these programmes for years, has performed more than 500 times at the MET and won a Grammy award for his album Verismo.
