In 2010, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Robert Schumann, a panel of New York Times’ critics selected the all-time best recordings of the pieces by the German composer. The choices included two Leif Ove Andsnes albums, one of the most talented pianists of his generation, clearly combining qualities such as vibrant energy and delicate elegance. Therefore, it is not by chance that among the many composers whose music the pianist skilfully masters, such as Dvořák and Bartók, is, in particular, Robert Schumann.
