Luigi Nono

La Lontananza Nostalgica Utopica Futura
for violin and eight audio tracks

The creative collaboration between composer Luigi Nono and violinist Gidon Kremer materialised in the piece for violin and eight audio tracks La Lontananza Nostalgica Utopica Futura (1989). During three days of recordings, Kremer improvised on his instrument and Nono then worked on the electronic dimension of the piece and the violin score from these recordings. Dedicated to the composer Salvatore Sciarrino, this fascinating and daring piece of constant surprise is being reinterpreted by André Gaio Pereira and Ricardo Guerreiro at the renovated Modern Art Centre (CAM).
