The return of the Diva

One of the most extraordinary contemporary voices, Karita Mattila returns to the Grand Auditorium after offering us “a night at the opera,” under the direction of Susanna Mälkki, in November 2014. This time, she sings in recital with pianist Ville Matvejeff, a duo with a great rapport who succeeds in surprising us in each performance. Mattila has a charismatic stage presence; Matvejeff is a pianist of great versatility, as comfortable accompanying Lieder by Brahms, Wagner or Strauss, as in following the Finnish soprano in any repertoire that she tackles.
