Jordi Savall, a regular presence in Gulbenkian Música seasons, is one of the most creative and successful proponents of new readings of early music, performing original insights that reveal the affinities between different geographies, shortening distances and uniting people through cultural heritage. In the The Teares of the Muses project, created in 2000, Savall has been joined by Hespèrion XXI, playing the works of Anthony Holborne and the Elizabethan period. This third programme, subtitled The Wars of the Three Kingdoms, covers the period from the Irish Rebellion to the Restoration of the English Monarchy.
