A new John Zorn project, based largely on the dialogue between the sinuous guitars of Julian Lage and Matt Hollenberg, accompanied by a frenzied rhythmic section provided by Trevor Dunn and Kenny Grohowski. It brings together references to jazz, rock, funk, blues and classical music in its sound, and the repeated instability of the restless themes makes for one of Zorn’s most spectacular inventions in recent years. The quest for sound mutation within each composition is directly inspired by the best experimental novels published in the 20th century.
