Founded over 25 years ago, the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester has been consistently considered to be one of the best youth orchestras in the world. It has been home to musicians of impeachable reputation, both as members and as soloists or conductors. The orchestra has developed a close relationship with the Gulbenkian Foundation since 2010, with an ongoing project of regular residencies at Gulbenkian Music, which comes once again to fruition in the current season.
