* World premiere – Commissioned by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation

Total approximate duration: 60 min / Concert without intermission

In the first concert of her third season as Principal Conductor of the Gulbenkian Choir, Martina Batič brings together motets by J. S. Bach and works by Portuguese composers, including the world premiere of a new creation by Andreia Pinto Correia, commissioned for the 70th anniversary of the Gulbenkian Foundation. Bach’s Motets, unanimously regarded as among the finest creations in the choral repertoire, are accompanied by works by Luís Tinoco and Joly Braga Santos, forming a programme of transcendent beauty.
