North American Gil Shaham possesses superb technique, placed at the service of tremendous expressive quality. This combination of factors was already displayed when, at eleven, his prodigious maturity led him to a performance conducted by Zubin Mehta. Led by Spanish conductor Antonio Méndez – a debut for Gulbenkian Music – Gil Shaham will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, bringing with him the conviction that music always conveys the atmosphere of its the time.
