Following a number of appearances over the last few seasons, the Il Pomo d’Oro orchestra – one of today’s most important ensembles in the field of performance on period instruments – returns to Gulbenkian Music to accompany the virtuoso Argentinian countertenor Franco Fagioli in a performance of Händel’s opera Serse. Fagioli’s first collaboration with Il Pomo d’Oro at the Grand Auditorium was received with great consensual enthusiasm, confirming him as an exceptional interpreter who combines his unusual technical quality with a rare emotional density.
