“It has been clear for some time that Evgeny Kissin is a Beethoven player of rare pedigree and distinction” (Gramophone). The recording of the complete Beethoven Piano Concerti in 2008 was a milestone in the pianist’s claim as a virtuoso, coupled with an expression more attuned to the extraction of beauty and the latent depth in each piece. In recent years, it has also become commonplace to claim that Kissin has entered the gallery of legendary pianists. He has frequently featured in Gulbenkian Music, and he returns in 17/18 to perform a solo recital and, later, in the context of chamber music.
