Kopelman Quartet

Evgeny Kissin was identified at an early age as a musical prodigy, and is celebrated as the most beloved successor of the demanding Russian school, a fertile ground for creating excellent pianists. In 2000, at 28, he became the first soloist invited by the BBC Proms to perform at the opening concert of the prestigious British festival. He will appear twice in the Gulbenkian Music 17/18 season. In addition to recitals, Kissin regularly plays with the world’s best orchestras and also ventures into chamber music collaborations with surgical precision. This is an example of this encounter with the Kopelman Quartet, made up of former members of the historic Borodin and Moscow String Quartets.
