Inspired by the turbulent relationship between the French poets Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine, L’Autre Hiver brings together live characters with figures that only materialise through video projections. This new opera by Dominique Pauwels is also the result of a close collaboration with Norman Chaurette (libretto), Denis Marleau and Stephanie Jasmin (stage direction, set design and video). The boundary between the poetic world and reality is put to the test and, according to the authors of the show, tends to blur in its ambiguity.
