Duration: 70 minutes without intermission

In the generous acoustics and spatial theatricality of the National Pantheon, the project Improbable Dialogues once again brings together contrasting musical styles and languages: the 16th-17th centuries are represented by Carlo Gesualdo, Gregorio Allegri and Giovanni Gabrieli, with their intimate Miserere; 19th-century Romanticism by Joseph Rheinberger; the 20th century and the present day by works of John Tavener, Henryk Górecki, Anne Vitorino de Almeida and also György Ligeti, on the centenary of his birth.
