In 2014, the young composer and conductor Jamie Man participated in the ENOA workshop for composers at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, excelling herself with a piece for two voices entitled White Lies. This piece is one of the movements of Play, a work that will also have a theatre component. The rarely heard full version of Ravels music for the ballet Daphnis et Chloé, premiered in 1912 by the Ballets Russes in Paris, will complete the second part of the programme. These works both share nymphs as the driving force of the stage action.
