A significant creation by conductor José Antonio Abreu under the revolutionary «El Sistema», the Coral Nacional Juvenil Simón Bolívar came to life in 2006 with the aim of bringing together the best young choral voices from across Venezuela. With the energetic Lourdes Sánchez as its musical director, the Coral Simón Bolívar began its internationalisation in 2012, and already has a history of collaboration with first-line conductors, such as Simon Rattle, Krzystof Penderecki, Gustavo Dudamel and Pablo Castellanos to show for itself.
