MASS
Since 2014, the Participative Concerts are unique moments of musical engagement between professional and amateur singers. This time, they will have the opportunity to explore MASS, composed by Leonard Bernstein in 1971, as commissioned by Jacqueline Kennedy for the inauguration of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in Washington D.C. When writing a large-scale piece to pay tribute to the former president, Bernstein chose to interpret the canonical form of mass through the meeting of music and theatre.
