«The Artemis Quartet’s technique ranks alongside its most virtuoso competitors – and its musicality exceeds that of all other ensembles» (Joachim Kaiser, Süddeutsche Zeitung). With Walter Levin, Alfred Brendel and the Alban Berg, Juilliard and Emerson Quartets as patrons, Berlin’s Artemis Quartet stood out from the start for its interpretations of Beethoven’s works. In 2004, as evidence of its reference status, the quartet went on to plan its own series of presentations at the Berlin Philharmonic and was the ensemble-in-residence at the Konzerthaus in Vienna during 2011.
