Celebrating 40 Years
Four-time Grammy winner Angélique Kidjo is one of the greatest voices in African music. Characterised by Time magazine in 2007 as “Africa’s most important diva”, she has built a career based on vibrant musicianship and committed activism in defence of children’s rights, girls’ education and the fight against climate change. The Mother Nature project, which the singer from Benin is bringing to Gulbenkian Music, draws on the new musical languages of the African continent for its intense artistic identity.
