Cappella Andrea Barca

Initially created to accompany the conductor and pianist András Schiff in his concerts dedicated to Mozart, the chamber orchestra Cappella Andrea Barca retains its intermittent existence, and is revived with different musicians whenever Schiff decides to present a new repertoire. “When I’m so deeply absorbed in a composer, as I have been with Beethoven,” he said in an interview, “then I physically and mentally begin to feel like him. Beethoven changed me as a person.” The programme tonight also allows a glimpse of that particular connection.
