A bright, recurring presence in Gulbenkian Music’s most recent seasons, the Russian violinist Alina Ibragimova has performed as a guest soloist and with her Chiaroscuro Quartet, showing with the “immediacy and honesty” of her musical sensibility, as the newspaper The Guardian stated, “the curious ability to collapse any sense of distance between performer and listener”. The date also marks the premiere in the Grand Auditorium of French conductor Fabien Gabel, musical director of the Quebec Symphony Orchestra.
