Il pomo d’oro

Il pomo d’oro was founded in Venice in 2012 and was immediately recognised as a key ensemble in the field of skilful, luminous interpretation on period instruments. They will be in residence at Gulbenkian Music throughout this season, and will play on three occasions, accompanying different leading soloists. The first collaboration will be with the violinist Alina Ibragimova, whose remarkable complicity with the public was praised by The Guardian in describing “the immediacy and honesty” that she brings to each piece, and the ability to “collapse any sense of distance between performer and listener”.
