Study on the wall that protects the eucalyptus roots
Among the first works undertaken in the garden, the following stand out:
– A study to protect the eucalyptus, which was considered classifiable. The best way to construct a support wall based on the foundations of the Auditorium was found so that the trees’ roots would not be affected;
– The transplantation of trees for nurseries created by Azevedo Coutinho, to be planted in the future;
– Transplantation of trees, shrubs and grass for Quinta do Marquês, in Oeiras;
– The destruction of 25 plane trees, one pine, two nettle trees and one Judas tree, the firewood being sold, or donated to charity.
